I bought this Dlc recently, but when I try and add it to my game it isn't working. I have tried a lot of things, and all the fixes I see require me to have a folder which I don't have. I tried downloading directly from the website rather than the app, but it still doesn't give me a folder, and it won't even open. I don't really know what to do any help would be great. I am on a Mac.
Yes, it says that they couldn't confirm the application didn't have malware. I have never been able to open Itch.io projects on anything other than the app.

We sometimes see a similar issue with people who play the game on mobile devices, where the native anti-virus/anti-malware software flags games from itch.io as "suspicious". Usually what has to be done is to change the permissions of the software to make an exception for the Our Life application. Do you know what program on your Mac might manage that sort of thing? A quick search shows me things like Gatekeeper, Notarization, and XProtect, but I don't know for sure which one is working in this case.
Okay I found a way so I could open the application anyway, but now my issue is that when I download the game I don't get a folder to put DLC in. When I clink the link in game to attach the dlc it just opens this page. I don't really know what to do from here.
Glad you were able to figure that out! Fortunately, the second issue is also a simple fix. You actually need to add the DLC out of game, rather than in-game. First, local the DLC file, which should be called "derek_dlc.rpa". Go to where you put the whole folder containing the game, and look inside there for the "game" folder. You want to but the DLC file directly into that folder. You'll know it worked by booting up the game and clicking the "DLC Info" button in to top left corner. It should show the Derek story DL C as "Installed". If you need more help, just let me know, and we hope you enjoy the story!
When I played through the game the first time, I thought Derek was very cute and wholesome. I wanted to play through Cove's whole story first before I spent money on the DLC. I am so glad I decided to buy this DLC. I ended up liking Derek way more than I liked Cove!! Derek feels very realistic. My heart went out to him every time things got emotional or when he was obviously about to confess something and had to pivot at the last second.
I have played many dating sims through my life, but I can honestly say Derek has been my favorite of all of them.
I can help you! If you know where the full game's folder is located, you can move the DLC files into the "game" folder of that full directory. The DLC folders should be labeled stuff like "dlc_step_1.rpa". If you need more help, just let me know, and thank you for playing!
I just finished Derek's DLC and enjoyed it so much more than I expected! Cove’s route is incredibly wholesome — and so is Derek’s! My mom even asked why I was smiling the whole time, completely unaware I was playing this game.
I absolutely loved the interactions between the characters. I’d honestly say I’m fond of all of them — they’ve become so dear to me, especially Derek. There’s just something about him that feels so real, and I constantly found myself wanting to spoil him.
I really appreciated how the DLC gave us so many important moments in his life. It allowed me to connect with him on such a deep emotional level. I thought no one could top Cove for me but I just clicked with Derek more. Kudos to the team, this is well done! 10/10!
really dumb questions but.. i already linked the dlc to the game but i dont know how to like play it. Like uh how do i start it??? do i need to press some sort of button for it to activate derek's story or smth???
Hello! Hopefully I can help. Which version of the DLC did you get, itch for Windows, itch for Mac, or on Steam? In any case, the thing you'll eventually need to do is get the DLC files into the appropriate folder, and then the game will tell you when you've done it right. I can walk you through the whole thing!
I'M LITERALLY CRYING DEREK IS SO SWEET!!!! The DLCs are so worth it and I NEVER spend money on games. I've only done the Step 2 moments so far, but baby Derek is so thoughtful and selfless and I just adore him so much. The sleepover and boardwalk moments were my favorites, I loved how much emotion and depth each character had (and I just love anything with soft Elizabeth). The Derek epilogue had me BEAMING. I didn't think the game could get any better but seeing the "side" characters' storylines have made me appreciate the writing and worldbuilding even more.
Hey! do you mind if i ask how you got the dlc to download? ive tried what the creator said but im still a little lost.. Im not the bright when it comes to technology.id really appreciate the help. I love this game and i really want to play this dlc

Does anybody know how to get the DLC into the itch.io app? I had to move all my games onto there due to storage space and I can't figure out how sobs
