Ok so I remained friends with Cove and have Derek as friends too but accepted the deal "cus i was fond of him" and finished step 2 and in the in between Cove's relationship status popped up but not Baxter's, is it because i accepted the deal with Derek? Or do i have to wait until i finish the step 3 prologue?
Edit: I got my answer, I just had to wait until I officially met him, I guess I got a bit impatient and nervous when I didn't see it where I usually saw it with Cove's relationship status
I absolutely loved this dlc! I'm so sad there isn't going to be anymore with Baxter. I saw alot of myself in him. Always wanting to be apart of something but keeping yourself at arms length so you don't have a chance of getting hurt/ not really feeling like you belong anywhere. I love that skunk man! Would have loved to somehow see his parents and knock them down a peg. Lol Time to read as many Baxter fanfics as possible! (any recommendations are welcome)
I love him, i yearn for him, i am reviewing this too late. I JUMPED when the DLC first came out for Baxter and it did not disappoint. I'm here to join in begging for a 18+ mod of this lovely, complex man
im a little confused and I tried my best to follow how to unlock his route, but basically I've done Coves moments in Step 3, except for his Hang, but there wasn't an option there to include Baxter... I also chose Baxter as Fond in step 2, but it's still not unlocking :( I'm so excited to play his route but I'm stuck!
Can you see a button on the right side of the Moment select screen for Step 3? Clicking that will show Baxter's five Moments. If the DLC is properly installed, the Moments will be playable. If not, they'll be locked. If they are locked, maybe try updating the base game with a new version and adding the DLC to that. Or make sure the rpa file is in the right folder.
Okay so, for some reason I loaded one of my saves from step 2, and changed Cove to crush instead of love. And then baxters route was unlocked thank god. So when that happened, I saved that, but then when I go to my original save which I'm dating Cove, Baxters route is locked there still. Does it matter if I play and finish Baxters route step 3 in a seperate save, then load up the save where I was originally playing and where i'm dating Cove where I had done all his moments in Step 3, even if baxter is locked still? Basically I'm just wondering, the main story where I'm in love with Cove on one save, and then on baxters route on a seperate save, but NOT in love with cove, how does it affect or change the story and or relationships with everyone, if that makes sense? Or would it also make sense if I playthrough all of Coves steps, then load up a save for baxter and his route and his epilogue, then load another seperate save for step 4 to play dereks one?
Baxter's story can only unlock if you don't load a save that's already in Step 3. You need to play Step 3 from the very start. So either starting a new file or loading a save that's in Step 2 and then going into Step 3.
you have no idea how emotionally wrecked i am to have played a completely different ending to this game two years after i thought i was content with Cove's Step 4 epilogue. i am in tears, happy tears, and experiencing the bittersweet feeling that my dream man is a two-dimensional skunk that will forever live in this world.
i love the depth and care that went into his character, and no amount of Cove-ness could sway me from my mission to wholeheartedly love Baxter the way i did throughout Step 3 and his epilogue. the way i was cheering, booing, gasping, and protesting against all of it, really reminds me that GB always has a way of capturing their audience's attention, moving them with such rich stories, and just overall giving us little pieces of a life we can always go back to.
so, from a long-time fan, thank you so much for not only this DLC and the care that went into it but the entire game as a whole. 💛
