I'm on ChromeOS and I downloaded the base game through Itch.io and I've bought all the DLC's yet I cant seem to download any of them, everytime I've tried all it says is; An error occurred during installation. No manager for installer unknown. Can someone please help?
I'm sorry they're not working. Can you try downloading them through the Itch app if you're using the webpage or using the normal webpage if you're using the app? Sometimes switching where you download them from can solve the problem.
I have a question about buying the DLC !! i originally had our life downloaded on steam first, i was wondering if i could still buy and use the dlc versions if i didn't download the base game on itch.io? it's because i don't want to reset all my saves and saved photos haha 😭 thank youu
Yeah, your data can be in the game whether you open the Itch or Steam version. Save files can be moved. And you can move the DLC files from the Steam OL folder to the Itch OL folder and it will work just fine!

Is there a way to avoid paying for all of the DLC's again so I can use it on my MacBook as well?
I'm sorry for the trouble with that. The game isn't officially approved by Apple, it's a third party app. You can still download it for Mac if you want to, but getting it to work can be annoying because Apple tries to stop people from using third party apps. But either way, the DLC files are exactly the same on Itch and Steam. So you can download it from Steam, look in the local files for the DLC rpa files, and then move those rpa files into the Itch Mac version.

Regarding how to download on Android, I did exactly as they said, only through Windows since I couldn't use the folders on my cell phone, so I had to use a USB cable. I downloaded the DLCs, extracted them, and copied them to the game folder, went into the files folder, created the "game" folder and placed the DLCs inside. I followed exactly these steps as I saw in a comment, and the person who followed said that it worked. But for some reason, even though I have put all the DLCs in the game folder, when I enter it it is still blocked! I really feel very frustrated, because I absolutely LOVE this game and I'm obsessed with trying to unlock the DLCs but I just can't! If you can help me or someone who also plays on Android can help me, I will be immensely grateful. Please, I'm seriously in tears here, Is it too much to ask for me to be able to plan my wedding with Cove? 😩😖
I'm sorry it's not working! You don't need to use folders anymore, that was replaced with a new method. Now what you have to do is uninstall the base game, install the DLC, launch the DLC and see the pop up that the DLC has been unlocked, and uninstall the DLC. After that you either install the main game again or repeat the process for any other DLCs you own. The main game shouldn't be downloaded again until you've unlocked your DLCs.
But then, instead of using folders, I use these RPA files? For me they appear as separate sheets, do I have to open these sheets? On PC I managed to unlock the DLCs and even played some on PC. But I also wanted to unlock it on my cell phone, since I don't always have my PC on me and it would be easier on my cell phone. The issue of files on my cell phone is confusing for me 😿
I think you might be downloading the PC version of the DLCs and not the Android version. The Android builds don't come with rpa files, they're an apk specially for Android. This is what yo need Our Life - Step 1 DLC (Android)

Try uninstalling the base game, downloading the wedding DLC first, opening the wedding DLC, see if it says it is installed, and then repeat the process with the other DLCs. Download the base game last.
Hopefully I can get a reply here. So my windows laptop died and I switched to a MacBook. Thing is, I bought and downloaded all of Cove's Step 1 to 3 DLC on Steam on my Windows laptop. However, since OL:B&A isn't available on Mac version of Steam, I've essentially lost it all.

The DLC files are exactly the same for Windows and Mac and between Itch and Steam. If you download the free Mac base game from Itch and download the Steam version of OL with DLCs, you can move the DLC rpa files into the Itch version and play that on your Mac!

Ok, I figured it out! I hope you have access to your old laptop...(or another windows device w your steam account and the game downloaded probably works too)
From my windows laptop:
1) Steam app > Library > Our Life: Beginning and Always > Manage (gear button on the right side of the screen) > Manage > Browse Local Files > Game (folder) > You'll see dlc_step_1/2/3.rpa.
2) Copy these three rpa files and put them into google drive.
From my macbook:
3) Download these three rpa files into macbook
4) Finders > Left click OurLife.app > Show Package Contents > Contents > Resource > autorun > game
5) Copy downloaded dlc rpa files into the game folder
6) Close and open Our Life game. Check the DLC menu on the main menu and everything should be installed.
oh i got all of the dlcs here on itch io on my phone, now i got a notebook and i dont really want to spend money on all of them again, do i have to pay for it again?
You can download the DLCs onto whatever device you want through your purchased game library on Itch, as long as it's a device the game works on at least.

Hey, I couldn’t help but to try to reach out about it, but is Step 1’s DLC updated to 1.7.0 as well? I ask because I got an email about it updating for android, but not for PC, as well as every other DLC receiving an update for 1.7.0. I’d noticed this even prior to the email coming in but still, I wanted to know if this was mistake, or did it not require updating on the PC side of things, and everything’s okay?
Okay, I just wanted to be sure since everything else including the other Step DLCs needed it, thank you very much for all of Our Life, it’s a really great game, story, and overall world! 😁

Yeah, your data can be in the game whether you open the Itch or Steam version. Save files can be moved. And you can move the DLC files from the Steam OL folder to the Itch OL folder and it will work just fine!

I'm really sorry that happened! Sometimes updating the gallery pictures to glitch and lock again. But they should unlock if you see them again.

Yes. Buying the DLCs on one platform can only get you the content on that platform. Steam doesn't allow that kind of key trading.

Step 1 doesn't require an update for PC and Mac! Android did need an update because of how the whole install process works, though.

Strangest thing i noticed that there's only desktop and no mac dlc ?
The DLC file works with PC or Mac. It's not device exclusive! 'Desktop' just means any computer, not PC only.
I've downloaded all the DLC's yet I can't install the rpa file or move them into the actual game. I do need help, please respond!
This is a wonderful game that is ruined by the nightmare of trying to figure out the way to download and run the DLC's. Such a waste...
