So excited for this! (Install issues on Windows)

tldr; Where does the rpa file come from?

I'm having some trouble downloading it, never mind installing it. I'm playing on Windows. Okay, so I've updated the base game to 1.5. But...when I try to download the Wedding DLC after purchase, I get an error  "No manager for installer unknown."

When installing into the default location didn't work, I tried to install them via directing them to the base "game" folder. No luck. But...two empty files (Wedding and Downloads) do appear when I did this. There's just nothing in them? (also, the Wedding file under the itch app itself is empty)

I can't seem to successfully download an rpa file for the DLC, so I have nothing to copy/paste into the game folder.

(+1)

Are you trying to download through the Itch app? It seems that's not working for some people and using the normal site works better.

I was! Turns out that fixed the problem! One click and the needed file downloaded. Thanks!

Thanks so much for the love and dedication you guys have put into this project! It's so beautiful :)

(+1)

I can't seem to install the DLC on Mac? Every time I click the download or install button, it buffers and then cancels,, HELP

There’s instructions on the post

(+1)

I'm not sure if this will help on Mac, but I was having a similar issue on Windows and the team says to try downloading it through the website, not the Itch app.

You might try that? When I did, the download completed no issues, then I just followed the install instructions above.

Hope that helps! Big thanks to them, because it wouldn't have occurred to me!

YOU'RE A LIFESAVER THANK YOU SO MUCH !! <3

I have always thought that a wedding would be a waste of money and never understood all the "hype" around it. Until I played this DLC. You guys have no idea of how much this game affected my way of thinking about a ton of things, it helped me a lot with my "young-adult crisis" and it was just worthy every second. It's the best VN/Otome Game that was made (saying this after 10 years playing this type of games) and I'm extremely grateful for GBPatch for this masterpiece! Cove will always have a special place on my heart.

That was amazing. I just kept smiling and smiling during the whole playthough. What a lovely little universe you have managed to create.

~android users~

These steps worked for me and at least one other user on here (I have a samsung s10. Also, I know there are a lot of steps, but it took me less than 5 minutes):

1. Download the base game from itch.io (this is an .apk file)

2. Download the DLC(s) you purchased (these are .rpa files)

3. Download and install Amaze File Manager from the Play Store

4. Install the base game by clicking on the .apk file and following the prompts to install

5. Open the Amaze app and follow the prompts to allow access to your files, as well as grant "All files access" (clicking Grant will take you to the Settings location, but you'll have to find Amaze in the list, click on its name, and toggle "Allow access to all files" on)

6. Once that setting is toggled on, go back to Amaze and find your Downloads folder there. Inside should be all your .rpa files.

7. Long press on the first .rpa file you want to install and then click on the rest. All of them should be highlighted before the next step.

8. Once highlighted, click on the copy button (an icon of two rectangles in front of each other) at the top of the app

9. Navigate to your Android folder within the Amaze app, then the data folder inside of it. You might have to allow another access prompt here.

10. Scroll down to the "ourlife.demo.apk" file and click on it, then the "files" file inside.

11. At the top of the app, there should be a new folder button (picture of a folder with a +). Click that and make a new folder called "game".

12. Click on the "game" folder, and then click the "Use This Folder" button at the bottom of the app. You will again need to grant access through a prompt.

13. Finally, click the "Paste" button at the bottom of the app, and you should be all set! Open the Our Life app, and enjoy getting married to the best crybaby!!!

(+1)

Hi, I do what you told me to do But it didn't work. Can you tell me what I should do now? This picture is inside the game, what do I have to do?

(+1)

I think you might be in the wrong folder - there should be one called exactly "ourlife.demo.apk" instead!

thank you very much for your help I will look if I have it

I have downloaded all the new versions for ourlife dlc including the wedding with 1.5 vers of game for Android but don't know how to install all the dlc it keeping showing rpa I do not no what that means me being dumb don't understand so can anyone help this dummie me who desperate to Marry COVE ASAP like Peridot:🥺😥😢😭🤧

You don't have to install the rpa files, you just have to move them into the Our Life folder.

1. Download the rpa file after purchase

2. From Android internal storage, navigate to Android/data/ourlife.demo.apk/files/ and create a game/ folder there if one does not already exist. 3. Move or copy/paste the rpa file to the game folder. The end path should look like Android/data/ourlife.demo.apk/files/game/[whichever_dlc_it_is].rpa (the name of the rpa file will be different depending on the DLC it is)

* Note: You may need to grant your file manager app additional permissions to access the Android/data folder.

4. Fully close the Our Life: Beginnings & Always application and re-launch it. If your device doesn't let you move files still, you can download an external file management app or connect your device to a computer to move/update the files.

Tnnks:)

Thank you so much. This was the perfect end to Cove and MC's story. I really do hope we see Cove again in the future, but even if we don't, I'll definitely be coming back to Sunset Bird. <3

(1 edit)

I can't find the "game" folder on mac, I've selected "show package contents" and I don't see the "game" folder has anyone installed this on mac?

Edit: found it on Contents>Resources>Autorun> Game

hii sorry for relying to ur comment 10 months after but I'm having trouble downloading It.. I've found the game folder and all but where do i copy paste the DLC into? please helpppp

Is it on Steam by any chance?Would really like to play it on Steam since I have the game on Steam

Yeah, it is! You have to click "see all" DLCs for it to appear because the game page only lists the first five DLCs.

(+8)

Is Cove supposed to show up to his wedding shirtless?! 😂

dude same thing happened to me- I even went back to check if changing his outfit choices would help, but dude was still shirtless the whole wedding LMAOO

(+1)

We released a fix for that!

I fail to see the issue. =P

I have the same issue LMAO Even with reinstalling I can’t get his outfit to show. Has anyone been able to fix this in their game?

He is still shirtless for me but I've just embraced it 🤣

(+1)

I downloaded it on the app on my computer, Windows, but when I clink into the folder and into the itch folder it says nothing is there. I've done it 3 times, help please?

The app seems to be having problems, you might want to try downloading the files directly instead and see if that works!

when  I tried that it doesn't download into a folder. I get an icon and then it cycles me through my web browser.

When I download it through the browser it simply shows me an rpa file with the browsers icon and then when i try to open that it loops me back to the browser and tries to redownload it. Do i just put the rpa file as is in the game folder?

Yeah! The rpa file doesn't need to be installed or changed, you just put it directly into the Our Life game folder.

On Windows I downloaded and moved the file to the game folder, but after the Step 4 ending screen I'm back to the Title screen. is there something else i'm supposed to do?

Have you updated the game to 1.5?

Where is the 1.5 patch? Thank you. Do we just re-download the original game?

(+2)

https://gbpatch.itch.io/our-life That's what I did only because the itch.io app was acting funky. Copied my save folder from the old version, reinstalled, and put it in the new game folder along with the dlcs.

It worked! Thanks

Thanks! Will try.

(+3)

Really... I don't get how to make it work 😰

(+2)

i cant get it working on android 😭 was really looking forward to playing

(+2)

Here's what the Android programmer says about that: to help add the DLC you can download an external file management app like Amaze File Manager (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amaze.filemanager) or to connect your phone to a computer to move/update the files.

You'll need to redownload and install the base game and any other DLCs you own to have them be up-to-date as well. I'm sorry for the trouble!

!!! this was the perfect solution - amaze worked for me. playing now :)

how exactly did you do it? Im so bad at stuff like this 😭😅

I have a samsung s10, so ymmv. Hopefully, this helps (I know there are a lot of steps, but it took me less than 5 minutes):

1. Download the base game from itch.io (this is an .apk file)
2. Download the DLC(s) you purchased (these are .rpa files)
4. Download and install Amaze File Manager from the Play Store
5. Install the base game by clicking on the .apk file and following the prompts to install

14. Finally, click the "Paste" button at the bottom of the app, and you should be all set! Open the Our Life app, and enjoy getting married to the best crybaby!!!

omg you’re an absolute life saver thank you so much 😭 ive been trying for ages to get it to work and youve explained it so easily i had it all done within a few minutes, thanks for taking the time to write all of that out i really appreciate it 😊

getting to the android/data folders is a colossal pain even with file browsing apps. anyone else?

(1 edit) (+4)

ok i have no idea how to get this working on mac. i've looked at the comments and followed extracting videos, none of it is working :(

(-1)

Hey there! Fellow mac user here, so I might be able to help if it still hasn't worked. If you already downloaded to 1.5 ver, I suggest you move all dlcs from your last downloaded game of Cove and move it to the game folder in the 1.5. To get to the Game Folder, you'll need to click "Show Package Contents" by right clicking. One you've got show package contents it shouldn't take much to find the game folders (Contents -> Resources -> Autorun -> Game). It might ask later ask you about a privacy issue and that it wont work because of an unidentified creator or smth like that. Just go to setting, click on security and privacy, get on the General tab in it, and then allow the Cove game to work! Hopefully this helps. <3

(+4)

I'm loving the DLC so far! but I've got a small bug (or maybe hidden content?) that Cove is shirtless in his wedding attire. xD

I chose short-sleeved blue shirt, white vest, no jacket, no tie & a corsage. The white pants was all that made it to the sprite. Bless him.

(Minor spoiler)

perfect. xD

(+1)

I'm not seeing the problem here XD

(+2)

I'm playing on windows and when I try to download the DLC I get a "no manager for installer known" error. I assume it's because the game is made for all systems and it doesn't have a specific download for each one. Does anyone know how to fix this problem??

have you tried downloading from an internet explorer program instead of the desktop client? that worked for me on PC at least.

For Mac users, we didn't need a program like we thought.

Just follow their instructions which were to copy the new files in the game folder:

1. Download the rpa file after purchase

2. Open the folder of your current Our Life Build and find the "game" folder inside. To view folders on Mac you might have to right click the application launcher and select "view package contents" and you may have to open a couple different folders before you find the "game" folder tucked away inside

3. Move or copy/paste the rpa file into the Our Life "game" folder

(+2)

i still can't download the dlc i'm so confused

(+1)(-1)

Do you remember that we had to download everything again after a new update and then put everything in the game folder?

We basically just have to do it again, but this time it’s easier since you only need to drag the rga file into the game folder.

I'm trying to get the DLC working on Android, but I'm unable to copy or move the rpa file to where the apk files are. I did check permissions and nothing is denied for my files, but it's stuck as a completely separate download that's unable to be moved when the other dlcs automatically went to the app as an update. Though that could be because the extension is different this time.

(+1)

Here's what the Android programmer says about that: to help add the DLC you can download an external file management app like Amaze File Manager (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amaze.filemanager) or to connect your phone to a computer to move/update the files.

Thank you so much! It worked!

(+6)

Android doesn't let you copy and paste files into the data file anymore, so you either have to use a computer or the original files app(Even apps with "Manage storage" permissions can't copy or move files to it normally)

(There are a few other ways, but those two seem the easiest, and you don't have to download anything else)

To get to the original files app go to Settings ->Storage-> Files

then open the Files app when it asks you which app to use(Not Files by Google)

Then follow the instructions on the linked post(You basically have to drag and drop instead of "copy/move to" commands)

You want the "Copying and Moving Files into the Folder" heading

Here

It worked for me, but who knows with other phones

(+2)

Yes this is the way to go, it took a hell of a long time and a bit of crying but now all my dlc's show as installed.

As an addition to this you have to drag and drop each file 1 by 1, you cannot create a folder containing them all and drag that folder into the android/data/ourlife.demo.apk folder as it will not show up as downloaded (at least it didn't for me), you need to drag them all into the android/data/ourlife.demo.apk/files folder, then create a game folder and place them all in there. The game folder is also very important as only dragging them into the file folder will not have them show up as installed.

(+1)

Finally thanks to you I was able to install the dlc 😭😭Thank you so much you are a lifesaver

Two years waiting for this, im so happy XD

(+2)

Downloaded on android but can't move the files into my internal storage data folder . Does anyone know how to fix this?

I had to download a file management app to find the files on my Samsung.

what app did you download?

File Manager +

(+1)

AHHHH I'm literally will start the game again so I can make the wedding more special <3 that and my name, unfortunately, is not present in the name dlc xD IM SOO HYPEE

(1 edit) (+4)

Does anyone know how to get this to open on android? I can download the file but it won't open.

Edit: I've just realised this file extention is rpa instead of the apk which the other downloads have been, I think this might be the issue.

(+2)

Here's what the Android programmer says about that: to help add the DLC you can download an external file management app like Amaze File Manager (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amaze.filemanager) or to connect your phone to a computer to move/update the files.
