I had a similar problem years back. Probably not the exact same as your situation but I can tell you what helped me.
I stopped using dark mode on my devices and switched to light mode, even at night. I also spent more time outside in the sun. Don’t know if that helps you at all but that’s all I’ve got.
I mean i find it more difficult to be in the sun than Normal light and room light really does a number on my poor eyes,I often end up with a headache and some really bad case of exhausted eyes

Nice. Haruki would have a field day with Kathryne as she never brushes her hair growing up. And as an adult, she still doesn’t brush it unless she has to give a lecture. Her hair gets all messy after like two hours on a dig site anyways so she doesn’t see the point of grooming.

Im actually kind of embarrassed if this sounds too OP but I imagine SOME of the worlds (OLNF’s world) strongest people (i think about 8 people) like boxers, martial artists, weight lifters were all students of Runie at one point.

As a friend of mine's MC lives in the same universe and in Step 4 starts a career by opening a natural medicine store, we ended up deciding that Leonard would also become his business partner.
Mari would probably be an editor for a company (making artwork, logos, ads etc) mostly because she isn't good at anything else and retail would be hell for her ;-; (she wouldn't likely hold a high position either, because that means speeches and she HATES that) She might also do youtube in her freetime, being anonymous and making vids of her favorite fandoms n stuff
Kel would be a solo pianist, making background music for those aesthetic games n such (which would probably go viral at least twice)

Bacon in step 1 sounds like Sthephanie’s (from GTLive) voice for Nugget from Kindergarten then transitions into Michael J. Caboose from Red VS Blue.

I don’t have a good character voice for Kathryne yet. I guess a good one for step one might be QiQi from Genshin impact. Then her voice starts to transition to that of Amber from Highway Blossoms (if you’ve ever played that), but like a bit more depressing.
Kathryne quotes: “You two are so loud! People are trying to sleep and my hearing is sensitive you dummies!”
“Why did you think I would I want to meet your ‘boys club’? People are scary, the less I have to talk to the better.”
only just saw this somehow. But yeah, Kathryne was pretty introverted and uncomfortable before she moved so needless to say, she is not happy about being in Golden Grove. She doesn’t want to be there or be a part of it and she makes no effort to hide that fact.
And Bacon is just Bacon. He’s VERY “special” and usually dumbs as brick, but is literally a genius when his brain actually kicks in. And that statement is true btw. Bacon cannot drive a car with an automatic transmission, only ones with a clutch.

[ A routine of waking up, doing his tasks for the day, going back home, and then getting to bed. A standard for the boy who was looking into the mirror.
The boy stretched the skin of his cheeks, inspecting the way his face wrinkled when he frowned. He opened his mouth, looking at the teeth inside; they were all just the same as always. Perfect.
Kojo didn’t like change. Hell, he loathed it. He preferred a simple black coffee with an unhealthy amount of sugar and espresso over those fancy ‘aesthetic’ drinks any day. A good book over going out, a multitude of playlist with 60-ish songs over a full, unorganised playlist with a 1,000+ songs; the list went on.
Life, however, did not agree with Kojo’s mundane and uneventful approach on it. At first it bothered the boy, a lot. But now, all grown up and older, he found himself not so irritated by change anymore.]
[ “Y’know, I never thought I’d stay here forever.” Kojo said as he and Tamarack lay down in the latter’s backyard, spread out like starfish.
Tamarack hummed softly. The girl could find herself relating to the 4 month older boy; she was just as agreeing with the statement as he was. The amount of anxiety filled moments when her parents swinged around? Gods above.
“And never did I think I’d get the coolest, most beautiful and amazing best friend out of it.” Were the soft, adoring words that came out of the green-eyed teen’s mouth. There was shuffling, and suddenly there was a bundle of warmth on Tamarack’s side.
“I love you, Tammy. You’re literally one of the best, if not just the best people I could ask for. You’re an angel; a blessing from the Heavens above, even if you can’t see it yourself.”
Tamarack giggled and rolled her eyes with affection, no real heat behind the action. She shifted onto her side as well, facing Kojo and letting the taller, more muscular boy cuddle her. Kojo had told her these words a thousand times before, but every time they managed to make her feel even warmer inside than the last. For a teenager who was claimed to be ‘rude’ or ‘apathetic’ by his peers, Tamarack found her best friend to be the most sappy, poetic person she could think of.
“I know, you big sap. That’s why I’m your soulmate, right? Even if it’s not in the romantic sense or whatever; in every universe, we’ll meet each other.” ]
[ Kojo blinked, eyes widening as rain poured down on him and the person opposing him. Did he hear that correctly?
“… What? Don’t— You’re not fucking with me, right?”
The person who’d been opposing him sighed, a sorrowful look on the canvas that was their face. That person was Qiu Lin; Kojo’s seven year long crush, who’d just told Kojo they loved him.
“What— No! Why would I lie to you, especially now?! I love you, Kojo. So fucking much. I have loved you since your stupidly curious-but-cute self broke into my backyard.” Qiu panted, sounding out of breath. They hadn’t meant to confess, truly! It just… slipped out in the heat of the argument.
Kojo blinked once again, like a confused raven, or a puppy waiting patiently for a snack. A second later Kojo was right in front of Qiu, his hands cradling their face as the process of realisation was evident in the former’s eyes. They both just stared at one another, panting from the previous argument, slowly steadying their breathing rhythms.
“You love me— have loved me. For seven whole years, to be exact. And you pushed me away because you couldn’t understand yourself, but more so your feelings for me?”
A loud noise of laughter left Kojo’s lips, eyes crinkling with joy and those sharp canines showing. It was a genuine laugh; something he hadn’t done in years.
“You’re a fool — an idiot and an imbecile. Do you know how long I’ve waited for you to utter these words; that you love me? Do you know how many daydreams I’ve had about you and me, loving one another? Gods above, you’re—“
Kojo’s ranting was silenced by the soft pressure of someone else’s lips on his — Qiu’s lips on his. He returned the gesture with ease, letting his crush’s hands snake around his waist.
“Gods, this is even better than in my dreams.”
A pleasant sigh from Kojo, and a soft laugh from Qiu.
“You’ve dreamt about this?”
“Don’t tell me you haven’t! …You have, no?”]

More like new ENEMY.
Haruki is sweaty, tired, bored and REALLY fighting the urge to strangle this dude, Jim? Jupiter? Jackson? Whatever it was it was irrelevant just like his need to be in the middle of a FOREST searching for some DUMB MYSTERY PLACE-
“We’re almost there,” John said, a proud puff in his figure. But haruki could tell that he was lying. Because John was not a good liar.
“Yeah….suuuuuure,” Haruki rolled his eyes, stepping over a sharp stick, that he wasn’t planning to use at all if this was all for nothing-

Haruki crouched low, watching little bug win the forest. Was it his cup of tea? Absolutely not, he’d rather be inside playing video games. Instead he was out here, in the forest. But he was determined to heal his friendship with Tamarack, no matter how…unpleasant it what.
He nodded, trying to follow along with what Tamarack was saying about some frog. It’s kinda cute, in an ugly sorta way. Something that you’d hate so much to the point you love them, reverse psychology or whatever the hell it’s called.
He scratched his neck, cocking his head to the side, the frog, looked like a gremlin and a bumpy stick had a baby, if that made any sense.
Haruki fiddled with his earring, coming back to the conversation, nodding along as he asked Tammy about their eating habits, desperate trying to keep down his lunch as the frog slapped its eyeball with his tongue.
Haruki spared a glance at Tamarack with a soft smile, he’d been well…a shitty person to be honest, he admits that. But he’d been able to win back Qiu’s favor, mostly they share bromance, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t rekindle his bromance with Tammy, bromance exceeded all genders.
He yawned, nose scrunching as the frog hopped closer. Fighting the urge to punt it across the yard, for Tammy’s sake.
Then out of nowhere Tammy held up the frog and showed it to him, he jumped back, startled. The stench from that thing is so putrid, absolutely horrendous his mouth slipped before he could catch himself, “EUGH that think smells awfull why are you touching it with your hands?!”
Step 3 and 4 Haruki (Beta Testing): Ryuji Sakmoto from Persona 5
Haruki was a good friend. The best best friend he’d say. He cleared the day to help Qiu get ready for the ‘not date’ with Maeve. The person they’ve been crushing on longer since he’s known the dude.
Qiu is awesome don’t get him wrong. He’s nice, funny, popular, the problem they are absolutely clueless when it comes to love, insert Haruki, the aroace Cupid nobody knew they needed.
Haruki had already given them a premise of what to do, ‘Compliment, pay for whatever, NEVER tell them what they should get, politely suggest’ the basics for their ‘not date’.
It’s a blessing that that Maeve is a sweetheart who has a blatantly obvious crush on Qiu that she tried deny, or Qiu would not have a chance.
Now it was just time to wait for Qiu to show up, he said he borrowed his clothes, and as much as he loved Mr. Lin, he had no sense of style, at all.
His mom was out at work, so they had he entire house to themselves, minus Lola, the deranged chihuahua he had in the cage, didn’t need the ankle biter hurting Qiu before the meet up with Maeve
The door bell rang.
Finally damn, for someone who’s lives in the neighborhood over it took Qiu 30 minutes to arrive after said time chosen.
Haruki hopped up from the bed, checking his appearance in the mirror, skincare has been keeping his skin clear and glossy, hair is amazing per usual, and his clothes, even if no one really was seeing him, were top notch.
He went to the front door, and swung it open, blinked once, twice, and wheezed out in laughter. Qiu looked back, trying to be unamused but a smirk played on his lips.
“Dude what’s with the belt, you looks like you got kicked out of as Magic act,”

If you played any video games as a kid, go back and replay them. That’s a good option. Second option is read a new book or reread one you liked. Drawing is also something I do to keep myself entertained.
usually i try to read or put something on. (e.g. something ENTIRELY random or a show i watched a long time ago) other things i do is just think. like, think about the last time i had a certain food, or what i’d do if i was a certain character or something 🙏

Guys am i a schizo or is my tolerance for light getting lower by the day, Is that stuff even real???
I had a similar problem years back. Probably not the exact same as your situation but I can tell you what helped me.
I stopped using dark mode on my devices and switched to light mode, even at night. I also spent more time outside in the sun. Don’t know if that helps you at all but that’s all I’ve got.
I mean i find it more difficult to be in the sun than Normal light and room light really does a number on my poor eyes,I often end up with a headache and some really bad case of exhausted eyes

Mari would be like a worried mother, I think? She'd constantly make sure that Runie isn't abt to break anything with his strong ahh body (though she'd also make sure she and they aren't hurt).
She'd be constantly making sure that Sonia didn't get into a scam sell or smthn (she has been tricked MULTIPLE TIMES) she'd also make sure she aint hurt :)
Kel n Damian would've probably collaborated for a game at some point :D he would lift them up like a crane (srry if im wrong but Damians tall right?)

Runie and Maeve, comfort besties 💕 she’d go to them whenever she’s feeling stressed or everything is to much for her and she’s clamming up. I think she’d try to learn how to make thinks from Runie but I doubt she’ll be good at it. She’d also be there for Runie for whatever they need 🫶
Runie and Haruki would be friends, after Runie displays how absolutely jacked they are. And Haruki may or may not set Runie up on dates with u know who 🤭
Damien and Maeve, basically siblings, they’re twins, twinning, they’re a duo who writes songs and denies there crush and just chills together. they don’t even have to speak they’re just that chill together
Haruki and Damien, father and son. Haruki adopted Damien (even if Damien didn’t agree) and now gives them advice on how to woo people (Runie) and sets them up on dates by inviting them somewhere and inviting Runie somewhere and not showing up, or like, shoving them together in the most cliche wayz
Runie and Vale's dynamic would probably be that one pair of friends where one is obviously in love with the other but doesn't say shit and the one who is like "Oh yeah that's my bestie, Vale! he's so nice to me!" even though the other one is known for being rude
i dunno 😞😞 kojo and runie could really js be doing whatever. maybe ko would watch runie do stuff like making bracelets or plushies or whatever like a curious crow/raven when he’s tired (always 😓) he’d also just get clingy as well like some cat or koala; just snuggling up and burying his head in the other’s neck. (yet he claims to be a tough guy who isn’t a sappy, clingy boyloser for anyone other than qiu and tammy 😒😒)
For ur non-mcs; damian and kojo would either lay on the ground spread out like starfish while talking about music, or maybe kojo’d do damian’s hair 🫶🏽

Im actually kind of embarrassed if this sounds too OP but I imagine SOME of the worlds (OLNF’s world) strongest people (i think about 8 people) like boxers, martial artists, weight lifters were all students of Runie at one point.

My plans for Leonard in Step 4 are for him to start his career as a painter, during this period he is still not very recognized but he already has enough to start living off his art, only in the future would he gain more recognition as an artist.
As a friend of mine's MC lives in the same universe and in Step 4 starts a career by opening a natural medicine store, we ended up deciding that Leonard would also become his business partner.

Curly, not super curly but just really fluffy.
His eyes are a like mine, a grayish Teal.
And his teeth are normal.
Mari would probably be an editor for a company (making artwork, logos, ads etc) mostly because she isn't good at anything else and retail would be hell for her ;-; (she wouldn't likely hold a high position either, because that means speeches and she HATES that) She might also do youtube in her freetime, being anonymous and making vids of her favorite fandoms n stuff
Kel would be a solo pianist, making background music for those aesthetic games n such (which would probably go viral at least twice)
Idk abt Elias because his frail body would disallow him from most jobs (if he ever got a cure though he'd probably be a doctor/scientist and research his way to cure other diseases n such)

And Bacon is just Bacon. He’s VERY “special” and usually dumbs as brick, but is literally a genius when his brain actually kicks in. And that statement is true btw. Bacon cannot drive a car with an automatic transmission, only ones with a clutch.

[ A routine of waking up, doing his tasks for the day, going back home, and then getting to bed. A standard for the boy who was looking into the mirror.
The boy stretched the skin of his cheeks, inspecting the way his face wrinkled when he frowned. He opened his mouth, looking at the teeth inside; they were all just the same as always. Perfect.
Kojo didn’t like change. Hell, he loathed it. He preferred a simple black coffee with an unhealthy amount of sugar and espresso over those fancy ‘aesthetic’ drinks any day. A good book over going out, a multitude of playlist with 60-ish songs over a full, unorganised playlist with a 1,000+ songs; the list went on.
Life, however, did not agree with Kojo’s mundane and uneventful approach on it. At first it bothered the boy, a lot. But now, all grown up and older, he found himself not so irritated by change anymore.]
[ “Y’know, I never thought I’d stay here forever.” Kojo said as he and Tamarack lay down in the latter’s backyard, spread out like starfish.

Kojo had told her these words a thousand times before, but every time they managed to make her feel even warmer inside than the last. For a teenager who was claimed to be ‘rude’ or ‘apathetic’ by his peers, Tamarack found her best friend to be the most sappy, poetic person she could think of.
“I know, you big sap. That’s why I’m your soulmate, right? Even if it’s not in the romantic sense or whatever; in every universe, we’ll meet each other.” ]
[ Kojo blinked, eyes widening as rain poured down on him and the person opposing him. Did he hear that correctly?
“… What? Don’t— You’re not fucking with me, right?”
The person who’d been opposing him sighed, a sorrowful look on the canvas that was their face. That person was Qiu Lin; Kojo’s seven year long crush, who’d just told Kojo they loved him.
“What— No! Why would I lie to you, especially now?! I love you, Kojo. So fucking much. I have loved you since your stupidly curious-but-cute self broke into my backyard.” Qiu panted, sounding out of breath. They hadn’t meant to confess, truly! It just… slipped out in the heat of the argument.
Kojo blinked once again, like a confused raven, or a puppy waiting patiently for a snack. A second later Kojo was right in front of Qiu, his hands cradling their face as the process of realisation was evident in the former’s eyes. They both just stared at one another, panting from the previous argument, slowly steadying their breathing rhythms.
“You love me— have loved me. For seven whole years, to be exact. And you pushed me away because you couldn’t understand yourself, but more so your feelings for me?”
A loud noise of laughter left Kojo’s lips, eyes crinkling with joy and those sharp canines showing. It was a genuine laugh; something he hadn’t done in years.
“You’re a fool — an idiot and an imbecile. Do you know how long I’ve waited for you to utter these words; that you love me? Do you know how many daydreams I’ve had about you and me, loving one another? Gods above, you’re—“
Kojo’s ranting was silenced by the soft pressure of someone else’s lips on his — Qiu’s lips on his. He returned the gesture with ease, letting his crush’s hands snake around his waist.

“We’re almost there,” John said, a proud puff in his figure. But haruki could tell that he was lying. Because John was not a good liar.
“Yeah….suuuuuure,” Haruki rolled his eyes, stepping over a sharp stick, that he wasn’t planning to use at all if this was all for nothing-
Jillian groaned, “Just trust me okay? I’ve got this feeling in my gut-“
Haruki snapped back, “And I’ve got a feeling of hunger in my gut, but you don’t see me leading you on a wild goose chase to a restaurant?!” He stomped, on an rock, it hurt, but he didn’t let it show.
“If we don’t leave soon I’m going BACK home to CIVILIZATION because I am NOT built for the outdoors! I could get RABIES? RABIES, MY PRETTY FACE MARRED MY RABIES?!”

Haruki crouched low, watching little bug win the forest. Was it his cup of tea? Absolutely not, he’d rather be inside playing video games. Instead he was out here, in the forest. But he was determined to heal his friendship with Tamarack, no matter how…unpleasant it what.
He nodded, trying to follow along with what Tamarack was saying about some frog. It’s kinda cute, in an ugly sorta way. Something that you’d hate so much to the point you love them, reverse psychology or whatever the hell it’s called.
He scratched his neck, cocking his head to the side, the frog, looked like a gremlin and a bumpy stick had a baby, if that made any sense.
Haruki fiddled with his earring, coming back to the conversation, nodding along as he asked Tammy about their eating habits, desperate trying to keep down his lunch as the frog slapped its eyeball with his tongue.
Haruki spared a glance at Tamarack with a soft smile, he’d been well…a shitty person to be honest, he admits that. But he’d been able to win back Qiu’s favor, mostly they share bromance, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t rekindle his bromance with Tammy, bromance exceeded all genders.
He yawned, nose scrunching as the frog hopped closer. Fighting the urge to punt it across the yard, for Tammy’s sake.
Then out of nowhere Tammy held up the frog and showed it to him, he jumped back, startled. The stench from that thing is so putrid, absolutely horrendous his mouth slipped before he could catch himself, “EUGH that think smells awfull why are you touching it with your hands?!”

Haruki was a good friend. The best best friend he’d say. He cleared the day to help Qiu get ready for the ‘not date’ with Maeve. The person they’ve been crushing on longer since he’s known the dude.
Qiu is awesome don’t get him wrong. He’s nice, funny, popular, the problem they are absolutely clueless when it comes to love, insert Haruki, the aroace Cupid nobody knew they needed.
Haruki had already given them a premise of what to do, ‘Compliment, pay for whatever, NEVER tell them what they should get, politely suggest’ the basics for their ‘not date’.
It’s a blessing that that Maeve is a sweetheart who has a blatantly obvious crush on Qiu that she tried deny, or Qiu would not have a chance.
Now it was just time to wait for Qiu to show up, he said he borrowed his clothes, and as much as he loved Mr. Lin, he had no sense of style, at all.
His mom was out at work, so they had he entire house to themselves, minus Lola, the deranged chihuahua he had in the cage, didn’t need the ankle biter hurting Qiu before the meet up with Maeve
The door bell rang.
Finally damn, for someone who’s lives in the neighborhood over it took Qiu 30 minutes to arrive after said time chosen.
Haruki hopped up from the bed, checking his appearance in the mirror, skincare has been keeping his skin clear and glossy, hair is amazing per usual, and his clothes, even if no one really was seeing him, were top notch.
He went to the front door, and swung it open, blinked once, twice, and wheezed out in laughter. Qiu looked back, trying to be unamused but a smirk played on his lips.
“Dude what’s with the belt, you looks like you got kicked out of as Magic act,”

If you played any video games as a kid, go back and replay them. That’s a good option. Second option is read a new book or reread one you liked. Drawing is also something I do to keep myself entertained.
usually i try to read or put something on. (e.g. something ENTIRELY random or a show i watched a long time ago) other things i do is just think. like, think about the last time i had a certain food, or what i’d do if i was a certain character or something 🙏

its been 9 hours but ermm i tend to just go outside and ride my bike for a couple minutes. Or just sleep or cook something new i wanted to try. It keeps my brain happy and not throw a temper tantrum !
