I've been following this game from the shadows since the release of the Kickstarter, I have to say now that it's one of my favorites VN's and I can't wait to play on the 16th! I'm so glad you liked the game! Unfortunately, saves from the demo won't work with the finished game. Too much has changed with the programming in the meantime. However, the game will save the text as being read which means you'll be able to skip through any scenes you've already gotten and pretty quickly get back to where you were. And any future updates after the release will no longer have that issue, so this'll be the last time it's a problem.

I really wish I didn't play the demo for this game a few months back. because I loved it so much and got too emotionally invested. When I had finished it I couldn't even try to move onto a new vn. When the game comes out I will 100 percent be spending hours in a gremlin state trying to replace sad with this cute guy!!
His height is kind of left unspecific, that way the player can more easily fit the size they want to make sense with what Cove's is. But he's probably around 5'3-5'5.

This was super fun to play! I love how much YOU get to choose in the story. It's one of the most interactive VNs I've played. I'm very excited for it to come out fully! I know I'm probably going to end up splurging for all of the extra stuff.

Apple requires going through an approval process to work with all Macs nowadays and we may not get the requirements done for our Mac build to be acceptable on a site like Steam. The first opportunity to be at "love" comes in Step 3, but is only doable if you were fond/crush in Step 2. You can't go from indifferent straight to being in love.
Though, even if you officially can't be at the interest level of "love" until Step 3, there is a scene where it's possible to say it was love at first sight if you started the game at crush and then moved to love as soon as possible.
OK Thanks. I started with crush right off the bat so thank for telling me. But 10 years seems like an awfully long time to confess to your crush if you've loved him the whole time.
You can confess to liking Cove romantically as early as Step 2 and in Step 1 the MC can say he's extra special to them. And if the player wants to imagine their character and Cove are soulmates/in love from the moment they met, that's sweet and okay, however having the game itself go on about how eight-year-old children are so genuinely in love with each other could easily get awkward or even uncomfortable, ahah.
That's why you can't officially start declaring that it's true, life long love until they're old enough to more reasonably understand those kinds of serious feelings. I hope that makes sense.

maybe it's because i went from relaxed fondess to direct crush but Cove's personality felt like it changed a lot between the child and teen changes and it confused me a bit, ofc ppl do change....
Haha, yeah, going from friends to crushes does make quite a difference in how he acts towards the MC. If you're always friends or always crushing it is easier to see the parts of him that haven't changed over time. But even though his behavior changes because of the new type of relationship, it is still possible to see traits of his character that have carried over from his younger self to his older self with enough interaction. The demo doesn't have that much Step 2 content, so that doesn't help things. It all comes together in the full version, though.
Both the extra love interests are boys! Our Life: Beginnings & Always is being made for those who wanna befriend/date dudes specifically. That's because it would've been kind of lame of us to have just one female side option in a game that clearly prioritizes the male lead, Cove, so we didn't do it. Instead we're planning on making Our Life: Now & Forever, which will be a new game that has the same type of features but focuses on female and non-binary options specifically.
And, as the other commenter said, Elizabeth is the MC's sibling. She definitely is very pretty and cool when seen in screenshots, so I understand the interest. But because of her actual role in the game we couldn't have made her a romance option even if there were girl romances in OL: B&A. I'm sorry for that.
I just played the demo and really enjoyed it! I love how customizable everything is, and the whole experience is great because it adds a lot more on top of the standard visual novel experience, thanks to the different age periods and how things can progress. I'm really interested to see where it goes, and will be playing the full version for sure!
I was looking at the planned release schedule again, but it doesn't seem to say when the two additional romance options will be released as DLC? Are they supposed to come sometime after Step 4, or will they be released sooner than that?
I'm afraid there's no current set release for the extra love interest DLCs. They may come out around the same time as Step 4 or at some point even farther in the future. We'll have to see where things are at next year with the team. I'm glad you're interested in them, though!
This game breaks my heart. When will i be able to possess it?!?! I love it, I've played the demo 7 times today. The only gripe I have is it's a bit difficult to play on mobile, the 'button' not being sensitive enough. But tbh just happy it's on mobile, it's how I've managed to play it 7 times today! Lol can't wait for November.
When has step four been moved to now? I couldn't find that information. No wait, I found it, but don't get it. So step 3 will be delayed as well now? Or was that always going to be delivered later? Sorry I'm confused.

Then Step 3 also got pushed back more recently because of some hard things that happened in my life over the past few months (I'm the lead developer of the game). But we're not giving up and are very close to at least having the initial base version available for everyone to play. Hopefully it'll all be worth the wait.

Yep! It's free. The paid DLCs that exist are optional and add stuff before the end of the game. You don't have to buy anything to finish it.
