I'm sorry for the confusion! The current file is just a demo. There's only one Step 2 event that's able to be played right now. The others won't be available until the project releases in November, or unless someone is beta testing the game. I hope that's understandable. And I'm glad you like the game ^^.
If I would like to play, but being a visual novel it would be difficult for me to translate the dialogues into Spanish, since I am not always good at English :(

I found this game on YouTube, and I was hoping to download and play it, although I cannot figure out how to start it on my PC and was hoping there was somewhere that I can go that has step-by-step instructions?
I've been struggling with trying to figure it out for a few hours but please take your time with responding.
Thank you for wanting to try the game! To play it on PC you'll need to download the PC file and have some kind of file unzipper, like Winzip or 7zip. Then you just left or right click the downloaded file, depending on how things are set up for your unzipper, and have it unzipped. That'll get you a folder of stuff. Inside the folder will be an icon which you can click to start the demo.
For more direct help, try searching "how to unzip a file on [whichever type of PC you're using]" and then you'll be able to find more specific guides/videos. I hope that helps!

I noticed that there were colors on the choices, is it just for looks or does it say something about the type of choices?
Shiloh reminds me of someone from XOXO droplets, is it the same person? He was the first person I romanced in that game.

1. The colors have a loose meaning, usually indicating tone, but it's not super strict and there's no points specifically associated with each color. So you won't always get the same results if you always pick the same color.
2. Shiloh in OL is indeed the same person from XOXO Droplets! And so in Jeremy in Step 2. We like having cameos, haha.
Thats why Shiloh and Jeremy looked really familiar! I also just realized your team made XOXO Droplets along with Lake of Voices, thank you for creating these amazing games!
Also I know its a small part of the game, but I really appreciated it when you put some options regarding vegetarianism/veganism. It was small but I really liked the detail.
Aw, The beta is only for Paterons :/ I like the game but I cannot afford it Pateron is a site I try to avoid usually because I don't have money for it.
The public demo is really long and the game will be free when it comes out in a few months :]. The Patreon stuff isn't crucial to the experience, nobody has to pay through there or other means if they don't want to.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I just had to for this game. It’s phenomenal! I’ve played a lot of romantic visual novels, but they don’t even come close to Our Life! Where do I start? The great writing? The beautiful art? The variety of choices? The character creator? Cove selection? The way you can dictate how the relationship develops? Ugh, everything about this game is so perfect and unique. It’s written so that the choices really feel like they have an impact, and that it’s tailored to your personal experience/character. It’s just so well made and it’s clear a lot of work’s been put into it. Kudos!
I don’t really know what else to say without going on a long rant about why this game is so amazing, so I’ll leave it at that I can’t wait for the final release, and I’ll 100% be buying all the DLCs as soon as possible. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this!

The DLCs will cost between $3USD-$5USD, depending on the type of DLC it is. The first three that are coming out in November will all be 4, so it'll be $12USD to get them in total. And we'll also probably have a little discount off the price at some point, too.

Second of all, COVE! I love his character so much, and the fact that we can even change his personality based on what choices we choose, And the choices we make are also pretty realistic! it's just amazing! I legit played the demo at least 4 or 5 times this weekend and i can't get enough of it. I'm so exited for the full release. This is truly a masterpiece!

You’ve certainly succeeded in creating a nostalgic feel to the entire game. You could tell me that the game was my past life and I’d believe you! The options felt human, the characters were entertaining and definitely captured how mostly unpredictable and how children would be. It felt amazing being able to ‘grow up’ with the cast and just b e i n g there, you know? It had such a drawing presence to the entire thing— I couldn’t take my eyes away. Like, dude, I didn’t even take breaks even if I needed to piss really badly. I was stuck on my screen for who knows how long, and I’m definitely doing it again. I can tell how much effort that was put into this and bOY is it just-- m u w a h. And how the characters blinked and looked at you before they disappeared off screen? Even though they barely moved much aside from that, it still felt so lively. Their expressions and their speeches— Oh boy, you know who’s recommending this to literally every weeb they know for weeks on end. This deserves so much more recognition!! I was so surprised at how?? HELLO?? WHERE IS THE FANDOM??? I thought there would be a much bigger following, smh. This game really, really deserves a lot! And honestly, thank you for the variety of choices that I feel most games lacked. Sure, they each have some type of thing they’re stereotyped into. But the way its presented and how they’re all generally an option that people would actually/pick/? Damn, that’s some stuff right there. So really, thank you and whatever team you have for creating this masterpiece. I hope the virus isn’t affecting things too bad :(, and lmao uH- sorry for this long message. So i've been following this game for a small amount of time and i finally decided to make an account and comment!
Im a sucker for good otome-like games or dating sims or anything with romance and a good story really and I usually prefer everything and anything with fantasy but THIS game is honestly the best one I've played and it's not even finished yet! I have fallen in love with the characters, the story, the art - basically everything! And I absolutely love the fact that we can customize the MC and even Cove, either through our choises or the Cove creator.
This game is releasing almost a week before my birthday so this will honestly be the best birthday present I've had in a while! I want to thank everybody who has worked and will continue to work on this game, you've done an amazing job so far and I believe it will get even better! (sorry for any broken English in this comment, hehe)

I usually don't play games like these, but this one caught my attention and so I had to play it, and I don't regret playing. The demo updated last month. You can get that by deleting the old version and downloading the current files. But the expansion we've been promoting recently is for the private Patreon beta build, rather than the public demo. I just got this game and I'm so excited for the full release! It'll be coming out about a week or so after my birthday, so I'll have plenty of money to buy it! Lots of times, people don't know how to write kids, but your writing... it's so good! It reminds me of how I was as a kid, and those were things I'd say too.

I just wanna say this vn is goddamn beautiful and something I didn't even think would be so amazing and what I needed to experience in my life! And kids, they were kids! How they were written and the choices, I didn't think it would bring me back and actually make me remember more bits of how I was as a child. Don't even get me started on the teen years... I be looking forward to more silly things that can get "cringy" by us looking back if that's included in the game as time goes on- (here I am acting like I'm *so* old... just let the kids do what they want as long it isn't harmful, many things are new to them) Anyways, I'm so happy to get to play through a demo though! I'm so excited and pumped for the release!! I need those dlc's while I'm at it. Thank you.

I made an account just to write this haha. I'm so excited for this game. I don't play many indie titles but this stood out to me immediately. This is honestly on par with a lot of commercial otome games I've played. (Even better in a lot of aspects.) The art is absolutely gorgeous and the animations are a nice touch. The story flows very smoothly and everything feels natural. I think child characters are especially very hard to write so I'm super impressed. The way you can customize so many things in this game is honestly unlike anything I've ever seen in any other vn. I'm huge on self inserting and this game definitely lets me do that. I'm SUPER tempted to play the beta but I want to be surprised when the game releases. This game is way too good to be free-to-play. You guys are too awesome. I'm definitely buying all the dlcs. Sorry for the long paragraph. I wish you guys nothing but the best and you guys will be on my radar in the future. :)

So i've been following this game for a small amount of time and i finally decided to make an account and comment!
Im a sucker for good otome-like games or dating sims or anything with romance and a good story really and I usually prefer everything and anything with fantasy but THIS game is honestly the best one I've played and it's not even finished yet! I have fallen in love with the characters, the story, the art - basically everything! And I absolutely love the fact that we can customize the MC and even Cove, either through our choises or the Cove creator.
This game is releasing almost a week before my birthday so this will honestly be the best birthday present I've had in a while! I want to thank everybody who has worked and will continue to work on this game, you've done an amazing job so far and I believe it will get even better! (sorry for any broken English in this comment, hehe)

I just made an account since I wanted to write this, so the username is really stupid right now haha, but so far, I've enjoyed the demo! I usually don't play games like these, but this one caught my attention and so I had to play it, and I don't regret playing. I loved the characters, the art, the dialogue, I loved everything to be honest! And I seriously can't wait for the finished product. :)

The demo updated last month. You can get that by deleting the old version and downloading the current files. But the expansion we've been promoting recently is for the private Patreon beta build, rather than the public demo. So if that's what you saw on Twitter, I'm afraid that's not available for everyone, only those who are backing us on Patreon-

I just got this game and I'm so excited for the full release! It'll be coming out about a week or so after my birthday, so I'll have plenty of money to buy it! Lots of times, people don't know how to write kids, but your writing... it's so good! It reminds me of how I was as a kid, and those were things I'd say too.
Also, I'm a complete simp for Cove. I love him very much and I want to smooch his cheeks.

I just wanna say this vn is goddamn beautiful and something I didn't even think would be so amazing and what I needed to experience in my life! And kids, they were kids! How they were written and the choices, I didn't think it would bring me back and actually make me remember more bits of how I was as a child. Don't even get me started on the teen years... I be looking forward to more silly things that can get "cringy" by us looking back if that's included in the game as time goes on- (here I am acting like I'm *so* old... just let the kids do what they want as long it isn't harmful, many things are new to them) Anyways, I'm so happy to get to play through a demo though! I'm so excited and pumped for the release!! I need those dlc's while I'm at it. Thank you.

I made an account just to write this haha. I'm so excited for this game. I don't play many indie titles but this stood out to me immediately. This is honestly on par with a lot of commercial otome games I've played. (Even better in a lot of aspects.) The art is absolutely gorgeous and the animations are a nice touch. The story flows very smoothly and everything feels natural. I think child characters are especially very hard to write so I'm super impressed. The way you can customize so many things in this game is honestly unlike anything I've ever seen in any other vn. I'm huge on self inserting and this game definitely lets me do that. I'm SUPER tempted to play the beta but I want to be surprised when the game releases. This game is way too good to be free-to-play. You guys are too awesome. I'm definitely buying all the dlcs. Sorry for the long paragraph. I wish you guys nothing but the best and you guys will be on my radar in the future. :)
