I've been following this game mostly silently since step 2, and I'm just so amazingly happy at how awesome this game has turned out to be. This will be one of my favorite games forever & always.
I can get this game to run with all the DLCs on pc but despite following all the instructions I can't seem to get it to run on my phone. I've got an ASUS rog phone 5, the file manager shows the file path the same as the instructions say "Android/data/ourlife.demo.apk/game/dlc_step_(1)(2)(3).rpa" but it just continuously shows not installed no matter how many times I restart the phone and app. Its a great game, if your on pc, but its just the demo on mobile it seems

11. At the top of the app, there should be a new folder button (picture of a folder with a +). Click that and make a new folder called "game".

13. Finally, click the "Paste" button at the bottom of the app, and you should be all set! Open the Our Life app, and enjoy getting married to the best crybaby!!!
this game has honestly gotten me through a lot of hard times in my personal life and i thank the devs GBPatch for making this, it was the first game where i felt like i could be myself so...thanks <3

Honestly a beautiful game! I really suggest you to play this. I was so sad when I saw that the game ended, my heart literally broke. But I really hope you release games like this! :)
Hi I hate to be a bother but before I go through the motions blindly, I was wondering the general process of downloading this bad boy on android/getting the DLC running. I've never really done so before but my computer is temporarily out of commission and I definitely would love to have this downloaded and playable for my flight home in a few days to help with my anxiety over planes. 😅

absolutely adored this game and maybe i cried a lil, would love it if all the dlcs came in a bundle though (for the three step dlcs at least) to make purchasing them easier, but besides that 10/10
edit: just saw the devs reply to a similar comment, I think leaving the wedding as a stand alone is a good idea, just because it feels like an additional stretch in the story, the three cove steps could be one dlc, then the other characters dlcs could come in a pack together. they are 100% worth the full price you'd pay for them separately, just easier to buy within one purchase rather than multiple semi-microtransactions :,)
that was honestly the best visual novel experience i've had in a long time. I immediately got attached to all the characters (cove especially) and i'm not going to recover anytime soon :) imma be honest i felt a few too many emotions lmao

Could you release a full game version? Id happily pay 20 bucks. I cant get the dlc to work and i see alot of comments saying they also having a problem. If a full unlocked purchased game aslo something thats coming in the future? I really enjoy this game alot!
Did you get it to work on Android? I've tried PC and android they won't merge. Says it's un readable. I have a gaming pc and mod all the time. I've never had this much issues
I haven't done it lately on Android so I have no idea if it's changed or if there's a new way, but for me each DLC worked one at a time and will overwrite the other. They will not work all at once.
So if you have Step 1 DLC active and then apply Step 2 DLC, then only Step 2 DLC will be active while Step 1 will be inactive. Then if you reapply Step 1 DLC, then Step 2 DLC will be inactive. If you jump straight to Step 3 DLC from Step 1 DLC, then Step 3 DLC will be active but Step 1 DLC will be inactive again.
What I did was progress through the game with one DLC active then applied the next DLC as I went (preferably before I entered the next Step at the transition). My save files were fine, I just changed which DLCs were active.
So each time you want to play a certain DLC you will have to reapply it if it's not active.
If you pay the dlcs already on pc, it'll work on android, all you have to do is look up the games that you buy by using your e-mail as a confirmation here, then it'll be send to your emails. After that you can re-download all your dlcs to your phone without paying it twice.
We might be able to have a version like that sometime! But the problem is deciding what DLC would it include. All DLCs, meaning also Derek and Baxter or just the Cove ones? And if it was just the Cove ones, would it have the Wedding DLC or just the three main Steps? We can't have multiple DLC packs because it'd get confusing, but if we had one with everything single DLC we won't be able to release until the last two DLCs are done.
I appreciate the reply! I was meaning the cove ones. I was unaware that baxter or Derek was an option. I beleive most of the people are just Android that would like the completed game. Its the fact that some people cant get the dlc to work. Thats why i was hoping for an unlocked version.

This game was so good and I had the biggest smile on my face everytime I knew I had time to play. The story was beautiful, I loved the characters and the choices were so nice and felt so real . Such a lovely way to look at our life, our relationships and decisions. Teared up a little at the end because I got so attached to it <3

I'll be back for the dlcs next payday but I'd like to make special mention of how in the fireworks section if you showed signs of discomfort at the fireworks being so close by and noisy he offers to cover your ears for you! I was moved to tears at that option since I struggle with a fear of loud noises and fireworks. not to mention that I quickly fell in love with this sweet boy. i will most definitely replay once I've bought the dlcs but for now playing your new our life game will have to suffice since I cant bring myself to restart just to scour the beginning for anyway to get Shiloh to recognize you when He's out on the school field trip, I wish we had more interactions with that sweet boy, especially since hes an option in step 4 to say you wish was there...
You have to delete your old file, download the base game and any DLCs you own from their game pages again, and add the DLCs to your new "game" folder. Your saves will still be there even if you delete your 1.5.1 version!

This game is so great. So much work put into this, it's amazing! I cannot recommend this enough. The customizations, the character designs, the representation. Its all just so refreshing and so sweet. It feels so nice to have a character that is actually me and not just a preset. Thank you for making this game
Maybe there's something in your permission settings or with your virus scanner that's stopping the game from being able to launch. Unfortunately, I can only guess what about your phone is having troubles. I hope you're able to figure it out.
I played this straight through for five hours on a school night, till 4:30 AM. Made me cry at the end, to feel so loved and appreciated, even though it's not real. Beautiful piece of work. Also loved the nonbinary options. I will definitely play it again to see how things change.
Definitely enjoyed playing this! There are lots of new dialogues and interactions to discover even after you have finished 1 or 2 playthroughs. This type of game mechanics is something I really wanted to see, and it was done so well.
The one thing I didn't like as much has more to do with character creation, and it's that freckles are too dark, especially if you have the lighter skin tones... Plus, there are so many options for hair, it can get quite tedious having to manually click through them all.
And while the baseline interest mechanic makes sense, I wonder if in future builds it will be possible to go from Crush to Fond (though not to Indifferent).
Though overall, that's all I can think of worth mentioning.
I appreciate how diverse and wholesome this game is. Both platonic and romantic relationship with Coven is worth pursuing. Would recommend and play again.

Currently, men are the only possible LIs (Coven, then Derek and Baxter in their DLCs).
Cove can be your best friend instead of a LI only if you have Fond level of interest, or if you have Crush/Love but are not interested in pursuing the relationship further (I would also recommend choosing Low Initiative then, too).
Aww shucks. I wish there was a female love interest in the game. I'm a guy so I hoped for female characters. I love the art, it looks so cool and fantastic.
I played this game 5 times already...its that good... and i almost cried too, and i love the customization options for the player! Like we even got to add acne if we had any- it made me feel better about myself tbh :DD
This was a really cool game. I enjoyed it a lot. There were some parts that felt a bit long winded, but overall the writing was really good. I wish there were different routes of romance. (Baxter, Derek, maybe Shiloh) Romancing Cove was really nice. He turned out to be a sweet, emotional, loyal guy. Concerning gameplay, I did not like that there was no sprite for the MC. It would have been nice to see your customizable character at the side of the screen. That being said, Good game overall.
DLC is currently being developed for Baxter and Derek routes. They won't be as long or as involved as Cove's story I think, but they are definitely in the works.
This game is absolutely beautiful. It made me tear up a few times and I love the messages that it sends. There doesn't seem to be too much unnecessary drama and the characters are all absolutely amazing. The soundtrack was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed this game.

How do you update from 1.4 to 1.5? I was trying to download 1.5 ver but keep ends up at 1.4... please help

Hi I cant remember how to move over my old saves into a new game file? Im on windows using an itchio file
If you're on the same device, the saves should automatically be in your new game build. Are you trying to bring the saves to a different computer?

Hello, I wanted to comment on an error that happens to me.
I have a Samsung A10 and when I open the application and press any option the game closes, I don't know if it only happens with my cell phone.

I played this game 5 times already...its that good... and i almost cried too, and i love the customization options for the player! Like we even got to add acne if we had any- it made me feel better about myself tbh :DD
um after you guys updated it today the Beaded hair became a error and if you ignore it, it turns invisible to make it look like your MC is bald XD
This was a really cool game. I enjoyed it a lot. There were some parts that felt a bit long winded, but overall the writing was really good. I wish there were different routes of romance. (Baxter, Derek, maybe Shiloh) Romancing Cove was really nice. He turned out to be a sweet, emotional, loyal guy. Concerning gameplay, I did not like that there was no sprite for the MC. It would have been nice to see your customizable character at the side of the screen. That being said, Good game overall.
DLC is currently being developed for Baxter and Derek routes. They won't be as long or as involved as Cove's story I think, but they are definitely in the works.
This game is absolutely beautiful. It made me tear up a few times and I love the messages that it sends. There doesn't seem to be too much unnecessary drama and the characters are all absolutely amazing. The soundtrack was beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed this game.
I have done many play throughs, all on steam but i plan on playing on itch.io, but I dont have money for the dlcs D: I love this game
